I thought the world was ending
And what a strange apocalypse
When grass is green in my own backyard
But streets burn and
Bodies fall
The whole world grieved, loudly
Sorrow stretched up and spread its fingers wide
What will become of us?
-A Midsummer Night’s Dream

This is it
Leap now gazelle
Go
All the pride of all the people lights your way
Hesitation is for those who don’t understand what was lost
Fear is for those who know what can still be taken
Do not blink now
Do not be paralyzed
Run
And be the greatest of us
-College Prayers

So
You want the essence of me?
The soft fatality of thighs
The warm light of my eyes
The proud lips where power pours
The noble ropes of hair
But you don’t want me?
Shall I make you a gollum?
An android?
Impossible creature, take this puzzle back!
You will have nothing at all
