Heading East of Eden

Everything changes in a moment
But I do not regret the feeling
And you,
so divine
take no prisoners

You
Crack me open
Eat my heart
Palm to palm
I submit
Lightning cannot choose between us
It’s too wonderful to think

I knew they’d banish us
Cannot understand
How we swallow their anger with our laughter
Cannot comprehend
How we give birth to love

when they breed fear

No matter
We leave, riding the Underground
Far away from this place
That would not be home

Wings stretched out
air rushing past us
Wind whistling from our lungs
I have never been more in love
As they chase us away

When we leave
You wrap your mouth tight
around the center of me
And in this way I know
we’ll never lose each other

In fact, I will follow you
from this life until the last
