This Poem is Just For Fun
We know the effect we have on these people
You and I
We see them brace as we grow close
See them tremble
Your keen ears can almost hear
the little sighs they let escape
No one likes when we visit
We enter, dark as blackbirds
Proud as lions
Ready to defend our own
We always look the best
Garments hug our bodies cut like diamonds
Our teeth filed down to a point
I grin at the women we pass
But they only balk
The cub is in trouble again
And we’ll be angry with him later
But for now we march down these dingy-ass hallways
To the war room
I the general
And you the monarch
Come to sit for peace talks
Or prep for a fight
Our immaculate shoes the only herald necessary
We come to sit before the rival kingdom
You, the Mighty, spread your gaze
They look away
And in this way I know
They’ll be no trouble
